Funny enough, I don’t find these activities difficult because this is what I’ve spent over 7 years of my life doing. I literally make a living off niche site creation. I create them to make money off them through affiliates, ppc ads, rpm ads and sometimes flip them for some bucks.

Benefits of Blogging on High Traffic, Low Competition Niches

1. Easier to Stand Out

Imagine a beach with a few sunbathers. You can easily get noticed with your unique beach umbrella. That’s what a low competition niche is like. With fewer bloggers vying for attention, your content has a higher chance of getting seen and establishing yourself as an authority.

2. Targeted Audience

High traffic in a niche area means there’s a dedicated audience actively searching for information. Your content directly addresses their needs, making them more likely to subscribe, engage, and convert into loyal followers.

3. Premium Ad Space

With a niche audience, your blog becomes a bullseye for advertisers. They’ll value the highly targeted traffic you bring, allowing you to potentially charge more for ad placements compared to a general blog.

4. Less Competition for Affiliate Marketing

If your niche blog focuses on promoting relevant products (affiliate marketing), you’ll face less competition from other bloggers for clicks and conversions. This can significantly boost your earning potential.

5. Content Creation Advantage

With fewer established voices in a niche, you have more freedom to create unique content. You won’t be constantly revamping existing ideas; instead, you can carve your own path and become a go-to source for fresh information.

Ways to Know a Profitable Blogging Niche

Here are some key things to consider when researching a profitable niche for your new blog:

Market size

Is there a large enough audience interested in this topic? You can use tools like Google Trends to gauge search volume and see if interest is trending upwards. You can also opt in for premium tools like SEMrush to know if there are enough high volume and low competitive keywords.

Competition

How many other blogs are there in this niche? While some competition is healthy, too much competition can make it difficult to stand out. This can be easily noticed by doing a quick search on Google.

Just type a popular keyword in the niche and see the websites that come up. If you see high authority websites dominating the first page, that’s a bad signal but if you see less authoritative and unpopular websites dominating the SERP, you’re good to go. Tools like Moz Pro Extension can help you display websites authority on your search result page without having to check for them individually.

  • Expertise: Do you have some knowledge or experience in this area? While you don’t have to be an expert to start a blog, it will help you establish yourself as a credible source of information.
